Sep. 22nd, 2012 08:34 amEmmzzi notices £680 of Asda home shopping debits on her credit card from when she has been up north.
(Emmzzi has at her most extravagant a £50 shop. More often £30)
Asda: no one is in today and I cannot help until you have the authorisation code and proof it has been debited
Me: But you have all my money! What if I needed food or petrol
Adsa: (pretends to talk to manager)
Asda: We will call you back Monday
Me: But what if you put another charge through? You put one through when I was asleep!
Asda: We will call you back on Monday
Amex: I'm so sorry to hear about that. I'm also sorry we didn't notice the unusual transaction. I will place a stop on your card now and you will have a new one in 3 - 5 days. It will take about a week for the charges to be reversed on your account - would you like me to stop your direct debit and we can do a manual payment?
Keeping the card. Given Asda's notoriety for double billing (hadn't happened to me before to be fair) and tardiness in dealing with complaints (I once got a refund 10 weeks after damaged good were delivered) they are going to have to be off the list, which is annoying as they are cheap, but I guess an extra pound a week is worth it for better service.
