Super frugal November!
Oct. 31st, 2014 04:41 pmMainly due to laptop breakage but also because I haven't done this in a while. Also my cupboards are stuffed to the gunnels so I should be using things up, not buying more.
(And yes, I am thinking about house moves and empty cupboards.)
Showing my hand: train tickets up north booked, petrol money put aside, enough food for a month easily if I can be bothered cooking it, need no cleaning products, toiletries or clothes.
Extra funds due in: well, mum will shove taxi money in my hand up north to the extent I'll come back with £50 more than I spent. Yes, I have tried to fight it...
I have £20 sainsburys vouchers, £20 boots vouchers
I have £5 tesco clubcard vouchers + free pack of choc muffins coupon
I have £20 due to me from matched betting which will go via paypal (this is where you bet both ways with bookies free introductory offers and then withdraw the free winnings)
I have £45 in my purse and am going on a night out tonight, but have a £5 voucher for pasta, so aiming to have £30 left when I come home.
I have £11 redspotted hanky train vouchers
So the budget is
£30 cash
£20 paypal (so ebay goods or withdraw ro bank if can be bothered)
£50 parents
£20 sainsburys so general groceries
£20 boots which is probably best for groceries delivered free to store for collection :-)
£5 tesco + odd bits and bobs vouchers like free cake
If I manage this I then..well.. nothing much, I'll just feel happy at thrifty November!
Planned events - not too many which is fab as I am WAY BEHIND on uni work.
Coventry literary walking tour - will require food + train ticket so £10
Games club x 1 - will require two £1 cokes
Trip to parents cost neutral
Trips to cinema - cineworld card paid for
Book group meal - will need £20 actual hard cash *but* is after parental units visit
2 x poetry group, cost neutral
Need to get secret santa but the rules state it must be from a charity shop. So £2.
Sunday I am going to buy milk, bread and a few bits for my Monday house guests. From tesco obv.
I am going to do some catering posts also, to record how I am getting on with storecupboard vegan catering! Vegan is ok so far; my skin is much better after a week. It's a bit efforty though. And easy to eat nothing but rubbish.
So I think that is £34 actual cash needed for events, against £100, and then I have £20 to use at sainsbobs for stuff like veg (will buy frozen) and fruit.
I just need to avoid agreeing to do anything extravagant, and look hard for coupons.
