Dear Yuletide Author

Firstly, thank you for the awesome that is yuletide. I am going to love my fic because it is a fic for me that you have spent time on and that in itself is awesome!

I am not a gore lover, and tend to like fics on the happier side, although some mild peril along the way is fine. (Also it's ok if evil people die, although I guess evil is subjective, I probably wouldn't enjoy 3 pages of their entrails coming out bit by bit though).

I tend to stop shy of NC-17 not because it bothers me but just because I am old and have read it all :) If you have a creative slant on it, go for it. If you love your slash, het or gen best, go for it.  I have very few squicks or great demands, and mainly I want you to enjoy writing what you have chosen to write! I like Christmassy so feel free if you like to write Christmassy at this time of year, but it's not required for me to love the fic. Prose and poetry are all good too.

Here's things I like about the fandoms I have chosen, but you should also feel free to go completely off piste, because who doesn't love a surprise?

Cabin in the Woods. Wheedon is my god, of course. This was an awesome trope subverting film, and I am fascinated by the whole backroom operation. I mean seriously, that's one hell of a secret operation across so many countries! And everyone is so chilled about running it. How does the organisational design even work? I want to sit in on a planning meeting! I want to know what their balanced scorecard looks like! I want to be at the performance review!!

Also, I want the guys in the woods to have some kind of vengeance somehow in a sequel maybe involving zombies. And y'know, now the Old Ones are running the world, how's that going to work? Who are they keeping as their pets? Do they even understand the basic of how to make food happen and such? So there's some bunnies, but I'll love anything!

Kitchen Stories is a film I picked up at a charity store, because I'll try anything with subtitles, and was just the oddest, sweetest story of freedom and friendship and isolation and pointless bureaucracy. I love ALL the relationships. Also the gadgets and the Institute. (What if the institute is more sinister than we think?!) But mainly, I think this one is crying out for curtain fic. Also tractor fic, there's a love triangle in there involving an incident with the tractor, I am sure of it. And we never do see any of the research findings after the project ends. Hell, I'd love to see a breakdown of what they did find out, with percentages and bell curves and a pie chart.

An finally Mongrels. And the big question is, with a role model like Vince, who does seem to be the older of the two, how did Nelson turn out so... Nelsony? How are these 2 even friends? And y'know, that incident on the roundabout... Now personally I think Nelson is a distant relative of Sir Didymus from Labyrinth, but this is just an observation. Absurdity is also good; for example how do we get Vince on a march against the red top tabloids? Or was there one fateful night when everyone was all together playing Boggle? Although I nominated these 2 characters I do love them all so include anyone you enjoy.
