6:05 Morgana defies Uther's guidance to help Merlin.

9:20 Arthur defies Uther's wishes to help Merlin

11:20 Arthur fights the bandits. The bandits have masks on. I cannot help but think it would be wise for the king's son, in a neighbouring king's territory, fighting that king's men,  to do likewise.

15:40 Arthur and Merlin sleep head to toe awwww.

Arthur then spends AGES in the v neck trying to look like a common man while giving rousing speeches.

32:00 Merlin dodges arrows Matrix style!

34:30 Merlin attempts to win the fight by starting a mini hurricane. I do not understand this as surely the good guys are as affected by wind as the bad guys?

39:30 funeral pyre. Sadfaces all round.

1.11  in which it all goes a bit seventh Seal with death on the beach. Oh, and unicorns.

2:29 Arthur kills the unicorn. GIANT string section explodes in a sinister way. This will not end well!

6:00 the crops fail overnight!

11:10 a visit from the keeper of the unicorns. He is a bit mystic. But unlike dragon, very plain speaking. "You will be tested." Arthur is quite bright, if it is SATs all will be well.

34:00 Arthur and Merlin play tag in a hedge maze.

36:00 Playing chicken with poisoned goblets on the beach. Neither of them has built up a resistance to Iocaine powder, it seems.

25:30 visit to dragon. "This time will you heed my words?" Well, that is usually a bit tricky, what with the words being cryptic, but "Uther must die" is clearer than usual.

35:00 Merlin goes to a hole in a floorboard where he hides magic gear. It is a really obvious hole. I do not understand why he does not just lift the whole floorboard.

37:00 I swear that spell sounded like "R. Kelly."

1.13 in which Arthur kinda dies and the evil Corr  is back!

1:15 singing the ballad of brave Sir Robin as Arthur legs it from CGI monster. Oops.. new knight gets eaten

2:50 cliche watch. Uther: "we ride at dawn."

3:40 Merlin polishes his sword which is, as ever, an actual sword.

5:30 ridiculously huge paw tracks in the woods.

7:30 Arthur is a bit dead. (Fear not. At least 4 more seasons to go!)

9:00 Uther carries ill Arthur to his chamber. I cannot actually snark at this bit, it's very moving.

10:10 visit to dragon. Dragon is cryptic!

15:20 Merlin is navigating using a map that looks straight out of LOTRO. Minor fangirling.

16:00 shirtless Arthur on his deathbed being tended to by Gwen.  About a minute and a half, although most of that is Angst!Gwen

19:30 EVIL CORR!

22:40 feeding potion to ill Arthur with no shirt on. About 5  seconds.

24:15 shirtless ill Arthur wakes up. Until 24:35.

25:10 nightshirt ON!

28:40 cryptic dragon is cryptic.

35:00 Mum's illness seems to involve skin being attacked by rice crispies, mainly.

36:30 Gaius hero moment. Emmzzi has a wee tear in her eye.

41:00 cliche watch - "Pity. Together we could have ruled the world!"

42:00 cliche watch - screaming "no!" to the heavens in the middle of a rain storm.

so, that's season one. shirtless moments for Merlin, Uther and Arthur, one episode each, and all being tended too when injured. I'd say season one therefore qualifies as "chaste hurt and comfort,"
